Outdoor AP Series
For external coverage, Cambium's outdoor Wi-Fi 6 and 6E APs are IP67-rated and cover -40°C to +65°C operating range:
- XV2-23T — 2×2, integrated omni antenna, 2.4/5 GHz. Ideal for light-to-medium outdoor use: hospitality terraces, education quads.
- XV2-2T — long-range variant, up to 1 km range. Suits campuses, logistics yards, parks.
- XE3-4TN — tri-radio Wi-Fi 6E, software-defined 5/6 GHz radio. External antenna options (30°/60°/omni). Suitable for high-capacity outdoor venues, warehouses.
Installation Considerations
Zero-touch provisioning: Connect an AP to a PoE switch, and cnMaestro pushes configuration automatically. No per-unit CLI required. AP groups and SSID profiles define the config — set up the profiles before the site visit.
Management options: Cambium supports public cloud (cnMaestro X), private cloud, and on-premises controller deployments. For Habitech customers with data sovereignty requirements, on-premises avoids cloud dependency.
PoE requirements: Most indoor APs draw 802.3at (PoE+, 30W). The XE5-8 and XV3-8 high-density models require 802.3bt (PoE++, 60W+) ports. Verify switch PoE budget before AP selection.
Channel planning: Cambium cnMaestro includes built-in RF optimisation that runs automatically. For high-density deployments, use the online Wi-Fi Designer tool (free) to model coverage before quoting.
Security: WPA3 support across the XV/XE range. Application-aware traffic classification is available on cnMaestro-managed deployments for SSID-level QoS policy.
