Cannot log in to the web UI of Aten PDU?
This simple guide will explain how to gain access to an ATEN PDU that is running older version of firmware which stops modern browsers connecting to ATEN's web UI.
Update 2023: we have found a quicker way on regaining access to Aten's web UI. Open modern release of Mozilla Firefox and type the following in the browser
about:config
change the "security.tls.version.enable-deprecated" to True. This should fix certificate issue, if it does not please follow our old guide below.
Modern browsers will support latest SSL sertificates. ATEN PDU's that are not running the very latest firmware versions will be using SSL sertificates that will no longer be supported by the modern browsers thus preventing people from getting web UI access. By default ATEN is set up in a way you can only gain access by using HTTPS connection.
Since Windows 11 is no longer supporting Internet Explorer we need to download and install older version of Firefox portable. This particular FIrefox porable is from 2011 meaning it wil support even the oldest versions of SSL sertificates.

Once you install firefox and regain access to ATEN web UI you have two options:
1. Enable HTTP and HTTPS (instead of HTTPS only) and leave the PDU as is
This can be done by navigating to Setup Tab and enabling Service Ports. After the setting is applied you can reopen your preferred browser such as Opera or Chrome and check if you have access to the PDU.
2. Update the PDU to the very latest firmware version in order to bring the SSL sertificate up-to-date too.
To download the very latest firmware you will have to go to Aten.com. After the update you will be able to access ATEN's web UI using your preferred browser such as Opera or Chrome still using HTTPS connection.
Please be aware! If the PDU is not going to be regularly updated and you leave HTTP port disabled - you might face the same SSL sertficate issue later.
