Middle Atlantic Forward Rack Panels Install
Middle Atlantic Forward Rack Panels — Install Guide
Middle Atlantic Forward Panels mount to the front of an equipment rack to give it a clean, finished face. Their distinctive feature is a hinged design that lets the panel mount at an angle, so you can swing it out for easy access to the gear behind it. This guide condenses the instruction sheet for UK trade installers.
Compatibility and hardware
- Fits standard 19-inch racks.
- Mounting hardware (rack screws) is included.
- Some Forward Panels also offer cable-management options — check the specific model.
Tools required
- Phillips screwdriver.
- Rack screws (supplied).
Installation
- Position the Forward Panel on the front of the rack.
- Align the panel's mounting holes with the rack-rail holes.
- Insert the rack screws through the panel into the rack rail.
- Tighten the screws securely — do not over-tighten.
- Repeat for any additional panels.
For angled mounting, set the panel to the angle you want before final tightening.
Good practice
- Use rack washers if supplied, to protect the panel finish from the screw heads.
- Don't exceed the rack's overall weight capacity once everything is loaded.
- Keep adequate ventilation for the equipment racked behind the panels — use vented panels where heat dissipation matters.
