Naim Bluetooth: Re-pairing After Factory Reset

After a factory reset on a Naim device, paired Bluetooth devices typically stop reconnecting automatically. This is expected — the reset clears all stored pairing data from the Naim unit, but your phone or tablet still holds the old pairing record, which no longer matches the freshly reset unit.

This applies to the Mu-so 2nd Generation, ND5 XS 2, ND555, and any other Bluetooth-enabled Naim product.

Why Reconnection Fails

A factory reset wipes all user data, including the Bluetooth device list. Your phone or tablet retains the stale pairing entry pointing to a device ID that no longer exists on the Naim unit. That mismatch blocks automatic reconnection and can prevent new pairing attempts until the stale record is removed.

How to Restore Bluetooth After a Reset

Step 1 — Remove the old pairing from your phone or tablet

Open the Bluetooth settings on your device, find the Naim product in the list of paired devices, and choose Forget, Remove, or Unpair depending on your operating system.

Step 2 — Put the Naim device into pairing mode

After a factory reset, most Naim products enter Bluetooth pairing mode automatically. If not, consult the product manual for the correct button sequence.

Step 3 — Pair fresh

On your phone or tablet, scan for Bluetooth devices and select the Naim product from the list. Complete the pairing as you did on first setup.

If Pairing Still Fails

• Restart both the Naim unit and the Bluetooth device before trying again.
• Confirm the Naim product is running current firmware — update via the Focal & Naim app if needed.
• If the issue persists after a firmware update and fresh pair, refer the customer to their Naim dealer or contact Habitech support.
