Naim Mu-so Bluetooth Pairing with iOS
Naim Mu-so Bluetooth Pairing with iOS Devices
If a Mu-so 2nd Generation is not pairing with an iOS device via Bluetooth, work through the steps below in order. The same process applies to other Bluetooth-enabled Naim products.
Step-by-Step Pairing
1. Confirm Bluetooth is enabled on the iOS device
Open Settings on the iPhone or iPad and check that Bluetooth is switched on. If it was recently toggled off and on, allow a few seconds for the device list to repopulate.
2. Put the Mu-so into Bluetooth pairing mode
Press and hold the Bluetooth button on the Mu-so until the front indicator begins flashing. This signals that the unit is discoverable.
3. Select the Mu-so from the iOS Bluetooth list
On the iOS device, go to Settings > Bluetooth. The Mu-so should appear in the Other Devices section. Tap it to pair.
4. If pairing fails
Restart both the Mu-so and the iOS device, then repeat steps 2 and 3.
Clearing Stale Pairings
If the Mu-so has been reset or previously paired to a different device, the iOS device may hold a stale Bluetooth record. To clear it:
- Open the Focal & Naim app on the iOS device.
- Navigate to the Mu-so settings and select the option to forget previously paired Bluetooth devices.
- Restart the pairing sequence from step 2 above.
Firmware and iOS Version
Confirm the Mu-so is running current firmware (update via the Focal & Naim app) and that the iOS device is running a supported iOS version. Outdated firmware on either side is a common cause of persistent pairing failures.
