Naim Streamer Network Connection: Per-Product-Family Reference
Naim Audio products that support streaming or network control connect via Ethernet (wired) or Wi-Fi (wireless), depending on the product family. Use this reference during installation to confirm the correct connection method per device.
Uniti Series (Atom, Star, Nova, Nova PE, Atom HE)
All Uniti models support both wired and wireless:
- Wired: Connect Ethernet from the rear panel to the switch or router.
- Wireless: Attach the supplied Wi-Fi antenna. Use the Focal & Naim app to select the device, choose the Wi-Fi network, and enter credentials.
Mu-so Series (Mu-so 2nd Gen, Mu-so Qb 2nd Gen)
Both connection types supported:
- Wired: Plug Ethernet into the rear port.
- Wireless: On first power-on the LED flashes purple. Use the Focal & Naim app to complete Wi-Fi setup.
Classic and 500 Series Streamers (ND5 XS 2, NDX 2, ND555)
Both connection types supported:
- Wired: Use the rear Ethernet port.
- Wireless: Attach the Wi-Fi antenna and configure via the Focal & Naim app or front panel display.
Wired Ethernet is preferred on all ND series installations, particularly for high-resolution streaming.
Legacy Products (HDX, SuperUniti, UnitiLite)
The HDX supports wired Ethernet only. Some legacy models may offer Wi-Fi via USB dongles or internal modules consult the product manual. The SuperUniti includes built-in Wi-Fi.
Uniti Core (Music Server)
The Uniti Core requires a wired Ethernet connection. Wi-Fi is not supported. Once connected, the Core appears in the Focal & Naim app for library management and control.
