Ruckus/RIVI web UI not loading
If you arrive on site to install a new Ruckus/RIVI Unleashed system and cannot access the Web UI of the master AP - even when using the correct port (HTTPS on port 443 by default) - follow the steps below.
Example symptom: attempting to open https://192.168.1.10 results in “refused to connect” or a blank page.
1. Check Your Laptop’s IP Configuration
Open Command Prompt and run:
ipconfig-
If your laptop is receiving an IPv6 address, try disabling IPv6 on the router, as some routers prioritise IPv6 and cause access issues to the Unleashed interface.
Note: Many ISP routers have very limited settings and may not allow disabling IPv6.
2. If That Doesn’t Work: Remove the Master AP from the Network
-
If IPv6 changes don’t fix it, or the router doesn’t allow you to disable IPv6:
Disconnect the master AP from the main network.
Power it using a PoE injector or a 12 V power supply off-network.
When isolated, the AP will revert to its default address:
https://192.168.0.1-
You should also see the Configure.Me SSID being broadcast.
Connect your laptop to this SSID.
Navigate to: https://unleashed.ruckuswireless.com
Proceed through the setup wizard and assign a static IP address that matches the main network’s subnet.
Once the initial setup is complete:
Disconnect the AP from your temporary setup.
Reconnect it to the main network.
-
Allow it to complete its boot sequence, the slave APs will automatically join the new master, and the Web UI will become accessible again.
3. If You Still Cannot Access the Web UI
If https://unleashed.ruckuswireless.com still does not load:
Hardwire the AP to your laptop or connect your laptop to the same switch as the isolated AP.
-
Manually set your laptop to:
IP Address: 192.168.0.10
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
Access the master directly via:
https://192.168.0.1Complete the setup wizard as normal, assign the correct static IP, then move the AP back to the main network.
Once the master finishes booting, the slave APs will rejoin and the Web UI should function normally.
