Sanus BLT2 Full-Motion TV Mount — Install Guide
The Sanus BLT2 is a full-motion (articulating) wall mount. This guide walks the install for UK trade fitters. Read it through before you start and check the panel's own manual for any TV-specific mounting requirements.
Pre-check: is this mount right for the job?
- Weight limit: the TV including accessories must not exceed 110 lb (49.8 kg). If it weighs more, the BLT2 is not compatible — use MountFinder.Sanus.com to find a suitable mount.
- Out of the box this mount carries directions and hardware for timber stud, solid concrete and concrete block walls.
Wall type and fixings
- Do not install into plasterboard alone.
- Steel stud walls need the separate steel stud mounting kit (not included) — contact Sanus before proceeding.
- The wall must support five times the combined weight of the TV and mount.
- Pilot-hole drill bits by substrate: timber 7/32 in (5.5 mm), concrete 3/8 in (10 mm), steel 1/2 in (13 mm).
Tools to have ready
Awl, pencil, spirit level, stud finder, screwdriver, tape measure, electric drill (plus hammer and 1/2 in socket wrench for concrete), and the correct drill bit for your wall.
Before you begin
- The hardware bag holds a full range of TV screw sizes and lengths to suit most panels — you only use four of the TV screws. Don't be thrown by the quantity supplied.
- Remove the stand from the TV if fitted.
- Fit any accessories now if they need the TV off the wall. The panel stays removable for future accessory purchases.
Step 1 — Assemble
- Lay the TV face-down on a soft, clean surface to protect the screen.
- Each component carries a number designation — refer to the parts page for identification.
- Secure the bracket parts to the housing using the indicated screws.
- Read every CAUTION note in the source diagrams — they flag the load-bearing steps that matter.

Key principles throughout:
- Keep the wall plate dead level before you mark and drill.
- Tighten lag bolts only until firm against the plate — over-tightening reduces holding power.
- A full-motion arm puts leverage on the fixings, so the substrate spec is non-negotiable.
