Sanus VLT16 Tilting TV Mount — Install Guide
The Sanus VLT16 is a tilting wall mount for large displays, with side-to-side adjustment and fingertip tilt control. This guide covers the install for UK trade fitters.
Pre-check
- Weight limit: the display including accessories must not exceed 125 lb (56 kg). Over that, the VLT16 is not compatible.
- VESA range: TV brackets suit hole patterns from 200 x 200 mm up to 750 x 400 mm.
- Tilt: up to 10° down / 6° up at the panel; the wall plate carries a 2° levelling adjustment.
Key features worth knowing on site
- Brackets slide side-to-side within the wall plate, so you can centre the panel on the wall even if the studs aren't.
- Built-in level adjustment means you can true the picture after hanging.
- Adjustment knobs give fingertip tilt control or let you lock movement off.
- Integrated kick-stands hold the TV off the wall to create room for cabling.
Wall type and fixings
- Suitable for timber stud, solid concrete and concrete block. Pilot bits: timber 7/32 in (5.5 mm), concrete 3/8 in (10 mm), anchors set with the 1/2 in (13 mm) bit.
- The wall must support five times the combined load.
- If you're unsure of the substrate, stop and confirm before drilling.
Step 1 — Parts and hardware
Not all supplied hardware is used — a full range of TV screw sizes and lengths is included to fit most panels. Before assembly, check every part is present and undamaged. Never use damaged parts; if anything is missing or damaged, contact Sanus rather than returning to the dealer.
Fitting sequence
Work through the illustrated steps in the source PDF for the exact bracket fit, wall-plate fixing and hang. The principles:
- Fit the TV brackets to the back of the panel, levelled, correct screw diameter, shortest screw-and-spacer that holds.
- Locate studs / mark the concrete, level the wall plate, drill pilots to depth, and fix — washers firm against the plate, never over-tightened.
- Hang the panel onto the plate, then use the side-to-side and level adjustments to centre and true it.
- Set tilt tension to taste with the adjustment knobs.
