The StormAudio ISP MK2 is an immersive sound processor / preamplifier for high-end custom-install cinema and listening rooms. Depending on model it offers up to 16 or 20 channels with full bass management and support for the major immersive audio formats. Setup runs through a web-based interface reachable from any device on the same network. Safety first
- Don't use the unit near water; clean with a dry cloth only.
- Don't block ventilation openings, and keep it clear of heat sources (radiators, stoves, etc).
- Protect the power cord from being walked on or pinched, especially at the plug.
- Unplug during lightning storms or long idle periods.
- Refer all servicing to qualified personnel. To reduce fire/shock risk, don't expose the unit to rain or moisture.
In the box
ISP MK2 unit, power cord, two Wi-Fi antennas, rack-mount ears, Dirac calibration microphone, mic stand adapter, and a USB sound card for the mic.
Front and rear panel
- Front: power button / standby LED, display screen, navigation buttons, IR receiver.
- Rear (varies by model and option cards): up to 8 HDMI inputs, up to 3 HDMI outputs, balanced XLR analogue outputs, RJ45 network port, USB ports, trigger outputs.
Installation
- Rack mounting: the ISP MK2 is a standard 19-inch rack unit — fit the supplied rack ears. Leave at least 1U of clear space above for ventilation.
- Free-standing: sit it on a flat, stable surface with airflow around it.
- Connections: HDMI sources to the HDMI inputs; displays / projector to the HDMI outputs; power amplifiers to the balanced XLR analogue outputs; network to the RJ45 port.
First power on
Connect the power cord to an earthed outlet and press the front-panel power button. Boot takes up to a minute — the display shows the StormAudio logo, then the home screen.
Web interface access
The unit is configured over the network via its web interface.
- Get a computer or tablet on the same network as the ISP.
- Read the IP address from the front-panel display (Settings > Network).
- Enter that IP in a browser to load the web interface.
- For a stable integration, set a static IP rather than relying on DHCP.
Inputs configuration
For each HDMI input set the name, EDID and HDCP settings, and configure audio/video processing per input.
Speakers configuration
Define the speaker layout (e.g. 7.1.4, 9.1.6) and set per-speaker distances (for time alignment), levels and crossovers, then configure the bass management.
Calibration with Dirac Live
- Install the Dirac Live desktop app (from dirac.com).
- Plug the calibration mic into the supplied USB sound card, then into the computer.
- Run Dirac Live and follow the prompts, moving the mic to each listening position as guided.
- The ISP supports Dirac Live and Dirac Live Bass Control (the latter optimises multi-subwoofer integration — separate licence).
Sources, listening and advanced settings
Configure sources, then select an input to listen. The Advanced Settings section carries the finer processing and integration options — work through these against the full manual for a complex room.
Firmware update
- Online: with internet access the unit checks and downloads updates under the firmware section.
- Manual: download the firmware from stormaudio.com and upload via the web interface.
- Never power off mid-update.
Troubleshooting quick reference
- No sound: check input selection, output connections and mute status.
- No video: verify HDMI connections and EDID.
- Can't reach the web interface: confirm the network link and the IP address.
- Firmware update failed: retry, or contact StormAudio support.
