Habitech strongly objects to using the Control4 driver found withing composer with Sonance DSP amplifiers due to a critical flaw in the current Control4 driver for the Sonance DSP amplifier. This flaw occurs when the mute command is sent to the amplifier, resulting in the power amplifier modules within the unit being turned off. You might be wondering what exactly the flaw is. The issue lies in the fact that the driver lacks a command to reactivate these power amplifiers. Even if a VOL UP command is sent, the power modules inside the amplifier will remain deactivated. The only way to activate these modules is to access a "hidden menu" through the /Status.htm URL, such as http://192.168.1.18/Status.htm.
As you can see in the picture above GROUP A to GROUP D power modules are set to Power Status ON meaning that the modules inside the unit are switched on and I am getting sound from the amplifier.
If we were to send mute command to all of the outputs of Sonance DSP amplifier via Control4 driver, power groups will get powered off as per this image:
Habitech have worked with Janus to create a working C4 driver which you can download from here
